After years of anticipation, Rockstar Games has finally released the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. The highly-anticipated sequel to Grand Theft Auto V is set to launch in 2025. Rockstar responded swiftly by releasing the official trailer on its YouTube channel.
The trailer gives out several details about the highly anticipated game, including the setting in Vice City, the inclusion of the series’s first female protagonist named Lucia, and a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired storyline.
“Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”

According to the press release accompanying the trailer, GTA VI is set for release in 2025 and will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game is described as heading to the state of Leonida, featuring the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and promising the biggest and most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series to date.
Rockstar’s GTA VI has been in leaks and rumours several times before. A teenager from the UK last year leaked a video that gave out 90 videos from the in-development process. Another leak came in recently in which a video on TikTok showed leaked footage from the game.
Grand Theft Auto VI is sure to be one of the biggest games of all time, and the release of the first official trailer is sure to excite fans around the world.
