Not a member of Soho House Mumbai? You can still book a stay at the luxury property; Here’s how

This move introduces a level of accessibility previously unseen at the luxury club, which has become a hallmark of chic exclusivity in Mumbai’s hospitality landscape.

In a significant shift from its longstanding members-only policy, Soho House Mumbai is now welcoming non-members to book overnight stays at its upscale property overlooking Juhu Beach. Since its launch in 2018, the House has operated as an exclusive private club for the city’s creative and cultural community. But this month marks a new chapter, as all 38 rooms are now available for public booking.

This move introduces a level of accessibility previously unseen at the luxury club, which has become a hallmark of chic exclusivity in Mumbai’s hospitality landscape.

Spanning five storeys above the beachfront, the rooms embody the brand’s signature eclectic style – refined yet relaxed. The interiors showcase a thoughtful blend of locally sourced materials and Indian craftsmanship, with carved bone inlay furniture, sisal rugs, antique sari lampshades, and artisanal cement-tiled bathrooms. Toiletries from Soho House’s in-house brand, Cowshed, are provided in full-size bottles. The most spacious accommodations, known as Playrooms, include living and dining areas, as well as balconies offering sweeping views of the Arabian Sea.

Non-members will have full access to club perks

Unlike other Soho House locations across the globe, where access for non-members is usually limited, Mumbai is taking a more inclusive approach. Guests, whether members or not, can enjoy the full range of amenities during their stay. These include the rooftop pool and bar, a members’ lounge on the eighth floor, a 32-seat screening room, a fully equipped gym, and a robust schedule of creative events such as DJ nights, workshops, film screenings, and panel discussions.

The ground-floor Cecconi’s, a Northern Italian restaurant, continues to be open to the public.

While non-members can book rooms at Soho Houses in cities like Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Istanbul, access to private spaces and events is generally off-limits. In cities such as London, New York, and Los Angeles, non-member stays are more restrictive, often requiring personal referrals or partnerships. Mumbai’s model stands out for offering a full Soho House experience to all overnight guests, without a membership and without a minimum stay requirement. Bookings are allowed for up to two weeks.

With this change, Soho House Mumbai not only broadens its appeal but also subtly redefines what exclusivity looks like in a city that blends tradition and modernity as fluidly as its newest guests will sip Negronis by the rooftop pool.
