Mumbai came alive on Tuesday night (December 3) as global pop-rock band Maroon 5 took over the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, leaving fans screaming, singing, and dancing along to their biggest hits. Fans from all over India—and even some from across the globe—flocked to the city just to catch Adam Levine and the band live in action.

The excitement reached a fever pitch when Maroon 5 hit the stage at 8:10 PM. Levine, the band’s charismatic frontman, opened with an apology for taking so long to perform in Mumbai. “We should have come here earlier,” he added, “but now we’re here now, and that’s what matters.” He also gushed about the city’s energy, promising, “Next time, we’re coming for two days!”

Levine, rocking loose black pants and a greyish t-shirt, brought his effortless cool to the stage. Midway through the set, he took off the t-shirt, leaving fans swooning as he slung a towel around his neck and powered through their hits.

Opening the evening was Indian artist Zaeden, who got the crowd hyped and ready for the main act.

For those lucky enough to be there, it wasn’t just a concert—”it was a night of pure magic”. In fact, fans came for the American band’s performance from different parts of the country, and world. Sirjana Gill, 35, came all the way from Chennai to watch Levine perform live on stage. “My friend and I spent over 80 grand between concert tickets, hotel bookings, and other things. We are here only for Adam Levine. I left my baby with my husband for this gig,” shared Gill, who’s a furniture manufacturer by profession.

For Jun Bang, 32, an IT manager from South Korea, Maroon 5 is more than just a band, “It’s a feeling”, he told us. “The last time I tried getting tickets in South Korea, everything was sold out in minutes. So when I received a promotional mail saying Maroon 5 is coming to India, I booked my concert ticket and then my flight tickets (from Gurgaon to Mumbai) immediately to ensure I didn’t miss the chance to see them this time,” Bang said.

Harshdeep Singh, 35, a businessman from Jammu, spent a whopping 1.5 to 2 lakhs just to relive his memories from his time in Australia as a student and listening to Maroon 5 on loop. “When my friend and I learned that the band was making its debut in India with a performance in Mumbai, we knew we had to come. Yes, we spent a lot but for us, it was all about reliving our college days which the band was a big part of,” Singh reasoned.

When asked about their favorite Maroon 5 songs, all three had one single in common—Memories.

The band kicked things off with Animals and kept the crowd hooked with smash hits like Payphone, One More Night, and Girls Like You. Fans sang along with every word, turning the gig into one big karaoke session. The night wrapped up at 9:40 PM with their chart-topping anthem Sugar, leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement.

Levine hinting at the possibility of returning to the city has left fans wanting more, and we most certainly cannot blame them for it.
