Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut‘s Diwali 2025 celebrations have lit up the other side of social media. Sporting a traditional Patola saree from Gujarat, the Member of Parliament shared glimpses of her lighting diyas amid the Diwali festivities. While her festive spirit and glittering celebration were the highlight of the clip, her lavishly decorated home stole the show.
The Internet even enquired about the designer who worked on the house. “This is even more posh than the Kapoors & Khans,” opined a user on X (formerly Twitter). Allotted to her by the Government, she moved into her official Delhi residence after being elected from Mandi. Reportedly a century old, it underwent several restoration efforts before she moved in.

An extension of her regal personality, the Delhi home, despite being restored, retains its original character. Carrying that old charm and aesthetic, the house has predominantly white upholstery. With antique chandeliers adding a vintage charm, black marble flooring and Indianised art on the walls adds a contemporary ambience to the house.

There are hand-painted portraits of the Queen actress, which add a personalised and intimate touch to her official residence. The restoration work included preserving its ornate woodwork carvings, maintaining its age-old fixtures, and other elements that tie the vintage elegance together.
Who designed it?
Credited to Design by Darshini, the interior architect and designer has blended heritage with modern design to facelift the signature pooja spot. Adorned with a pastel aesthetic, Ranaut centred her Diwali 2025 celebrations around it.
“No frills, no shortcuts, just patience, intuition, and a deep respect for what once was. We peeled back layers, quite literally, to return this bungalow to its roots — its original layout, flow, and quiet dignity,” Darshini shared earlier this year in May.
Seen decorated with floral arrangements, diyas, and lights, she takes the viewers to her terrace. Also featuring a pavilion, the tiled terrace is the perfect space for fireworks.
“Hand painting played a huge role in that. From intricate art across walls and ceilings to subtle craft woven into corners, every decision was intentional. It’s slow work, but meaningful. It allows a home to carry the personality of the woman who lives in it. Fierce yet grounded. Classic, but unafraid to stand out. For me, this wasn’t just a project. It was a homecoming,” the designer had shared.
