Headlining the War franchise, Hrithik Roshan or as the paparazzi calls him lovingly, the “Greek god of Bollywood,” is making a comeback on the big screens with War 2. It is, however, shaping up to become Bollywood’s most expensive film yet with a reported budget of Rs 400 crore.

This jaw-dropping figure also resonates in what the star-studded cast is set to take home. Roshan’s iconic role as Major Kabir is not just another role this time; reports suggest that he bagged a Rs 100 crore deal for himself. War (2019) made big waves at the box office, which led the superstar to walk away with a big cheque from the profit.

War 2 cast salaries

Joining the action is Telugu superstar Jr. NTR, who marks his Hindi debut with War 2 and has reportedly taken home Rs 70 crore. Actress Kiara Advani comes in at Rs 15 crore, while veteran star Anil Kapoor adds his gravitas with a Rs 10 crore fee. Director Ayan Mukerji, fresh from helming Brahmāstra, has also scored a hefty Rs 30 crore cheque. All in, the star-studded cast and crew alone account for around Rs 150 crore, a sign of Yash Raj Films’ confidence in the project.

Adding to the hype, War 2 is being positioned as a true pan-India spectacle. The film will release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, and has already locked in an exclusive IMAX rollout worldwide. With teaser trailers already drawing positive buzz, trade analysts predict record footfalls in both northern and southern markets.

For Hrithik, it’s more than a sequel; it’s a return to a character that turned him into a nationwide sensation. For Jr. NTR, it’s a grand Bollywood entry backed by scale and ambition. And for fans? Independence Day weekend promises high-octane action, style, and a clash of two titans that could redefine the spy genre in Indian cinema.
