Yudhra, an action movie starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan, debuted in theatres on Friday. The film produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar and Sudha Anukta, brought in Rs 4.5 crore domestically on its opening day, but on its second day, the earning plummeted.
Industry tracker Sacnilk has estimated that Yudhra made Rs 1.50 crore on Saturday. With this, the movie’s total earnings in India surpassed Rs 6 crore.
The Hindi occupancy rate for the movie on September 21 was 11.40 per cent overall. Of this, the morning shows had 6.11 per cent occupancy, afternoon shows 11.95 per cent, evening shows 10.84 per cent and night shows 16.70 per cent.
Shubhra Gupta, an Indian Express film critic, rated Yudhra two stars and stated in her review that Siddhant Chaturvedi was still too young to bring much personality to his role as an undercover agent. He does try, though, and aside from a few scenes, he just seems like a ripped actor following his script. “Yudhra manages to make some resets but also succumbs to jadedness on multiple scores, so it becomes a case of coming upon a few energetic set-pieces which then sink into laxity and predictability which goes on for much too long,” she stated.
The film produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar is made under the banner of Excel Entertainment, and features actor Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal and Malavika Mohanan in key roles.
