After giving a super hit movie like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Vicky Kaushal has returned to work with Bhanu Pratap Singh’s untitled horror movie. But on 18th April, Thursday, things took an ugly turn when Vicky Kaushal injured himself on the movie set. While shooting for an action sequence, he fractured his cheekbone. As per a report in a leading daily, Vicky got 13 stitches after a door fell on him.

The Bhanu Pratap Singh’s directorial venture revolves around a ship that lies static on a beach. However, the report further suggests that the crew and cast were shooting in Alang, which is world’s biggest ship-breaking yard in Gujarat, for the last five days. Vicky had to run and open a door while filming an action sequence in the ship.

‘Unfortunately, the door fell on him and he was badly hurt. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital by the crew and flown to Mumbai on Friday morning,” a source told the daily. The movie also stars Bhumi Pednekar. It is produced by Karan Johar.

Vicky Kaushal made his Bollywood debut with the 2015 film Masaan. But it took him three years to make his mark in Bollywood. After the success of Raazi, Sanju, and Manmarziyan, people took notice of this new boy in town. However, it was Aditya Dhar’s Uri: The Surgical Strike that made Vicky Kaushal a household name. The film turned out to be the first hit of 2019.

Talking about the overwhelming response, Vicky told a daily, “Just before the film was to release, Aditya [Dhar, director] and I was discussing how the entire team has given their all – physically, mentally and emotionally – to the project. Though we were content with our efforts and we didn’t expect the audience to go bonkers.”

Apart from the Bhanu Pratap directorial, Vicky has several other projects in hand. He also has Shoojit Sircar’s Udham Singh biopic and Karan Johar’s Takht in the pipeline. Vicky had a great run at the cinemas in 2018. The actor won accolades for his performance in movies like Sanju and Manmarziyaan.
