When stars tie the knot, a prenuptial agreement is almost always part of the package and Selena Gomez is no exception. Ahead of her September 27, 2025 wedding to music producer Benny Blanco, Gomez reportedly signed an “airtight” prenup to protect her growing billion-dollar empire.

Why the prenup was non-negotiable

According to Rob Shuter’s Substack, Gomez’s legal team made it clear that the prenup was not just a precaution, it was a necessity. A source told Shuter, “Selena built everything from the ground up. The prenup was about respect, not suspicion.”

Gomez’s net worth, estimated at over $1 billion thanks to her Rare Beauty brand and music career, Blanco’s estimated $50 million. Though still impressive, the difference made the decision to protect her assets a straightforward one.

Blanco had no issue with it

Insiders say Blanco had no hesitation about the prenup. “He loves her, and he respects what she’s achieved,” said a source, adding that Blanco understood and supported Gomez’s choice from the beginning. The agreement reportedly even delayed the wedding briefly but both parties were on the same page throughout.

A star-studded celebration

The couple married in an intimate ceremony attended by family and close friends, including Taylor Swift, who also gave a speech at the reception.

Other celebrity guests included Gomez’s Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Paul Rudd. Meryl Streep was scheduled to attend but had to cancel last minute.

According to People, Ed Sheeran also delivered a heartfelt toast during the reception. Following the nuptials, Blanco posted a carousel of wedding photos on Instagram with the caption, “I married a real life Disney princess.” Gomez responded sweetly in the comments: “I love you soooo much,” with a white heart emoji.

Gomez also shared a series of Polaroid shots and professional portraits from the wedding, many featuring her custom Ralph Lauren gown. Blanco kept it simple in the comments, writing just one word: “wife.”
