Mumbai police take accused to actor’s house to recreate crime scene
Early Tuesday morning, Mumbai police took the Bangladesh national arrested in connection with the attack on Saif Ali Khan to the actor’s Bandra residence to recreate the crime scene and reconstruct the sequence of events.
The police chose the early hours for the reenactment, as the darkness would provide more accuracy in piecing together the timeline. The accused, Mohammed Shariful Islam, also known as Vijay Das, 30, is believed to have committed the crime between 1:33 am and 2:33 am.
On Thursday, January 16, Islam allegedly broke into Saif Ali Khan’s 11th-floor apartment in Bandra, injured the family’s nanny, and then attacked the actor, stabbing him six times before fleeing the scene. Khan underwent surgery and is now stable and out of danger.
