Actor Saif Ali Khan, 54, suffered six stab wounds during a shocking attack at his Bandra home late last night. One of the injuries was dangerously close to his spine. Following the attack, Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital by his elder son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, 23, who is also a budding actor.

Son Ibrahim’s Quick Thinking Saves the Day

Unable to find a car willing to transport his injured father, Ibrahim quickly decided to use an auto-rickshaw. Determined not to waste time, he helped Saif into the three-wheeler and rushed him to the hospital, which was about two kilometres away.

A video captured shortly after the incident shows Saif’s wife, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, standing near the auto-rickshaw and speaking to house staff.

Saif Ali Khan underwent surgery and is now out of danger, according to a statement from his team. The statement also assured fans that the rest of the family is safe.

Police Investigation Points to Robbery Motive

Mumbai Police have stated that preliminary investigations suggest the attack was an attempted robbery. CCTV footage from Saif’s home did not capture anyone entering the premises in the two hours before the incident, indicating that the intruder had entered earlier and waited to strike.

Police suspect the attacker might be connected to one of the house staff, who could have facilitated the intruder’s entry. The staff member is currently being questioned.

The attack has sent shockwaves through the film industry. Actor Pooja Bhatt expressed her concerns, stating, “I have never felt so unsafe,” and urged Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to increase police presence in Bandra.

The incident has also sparked political backlash, with opposition leaders questioning the safety of ordinary citizens if high-profile celebrities face such attacks.

This brazen attack in one of Mumbai’s poshest neighbourhoods has underscored the need for heightened security measures. As police continue their investigation, the incident has left the city shaken and raised concerns about the safety of both celebrities and ordinary citizens alike.
