Phillauri is an interesting fun-filled family entertainer and the ‘film’s promos and songs have already been liked by most people who have heard them. Even though the buzz around the film is relatively less, yet some trade experts feel that Anushka Sharma starer film usually does well as Anushka Sharma is on a winning streak. It is a budget film of around Rs 21 crore but the film has already recovered Rs 12 crore from its music and satellite rights. That also means that film needs to recover only Rs 9 crore of its investment which shouldn’t be difficult.

One trade expert says that since there was no buzz around the film, there is no evidence of advance booking. However, It may not have very good day bookings but by the evening if the word of the mouth is positive, it might pick up. One thing that will restrict the audience is that it is directed by a debutant director. Even though the film special effects have been received well, yet it doesn’t have much in terms of what makes a film hit with the movie goers.The script of the is slow and the film takes its time to get into the spirit of things.

On day one it will be very selective, across 1200 screens and that should not earn not more than 3 crore, according to trade experts. But if the content is good it will definitely be able to make up 50 per cent of its investment which is left that is almost 10 crore, but there is also a chance of it doing more than 20 crore lifetime. Of course, it will recover the cost and anything above that will be profit. It should do better in the North where audiences can relate to Diljit. But if the content is good, it could overall do better as it is a family entertainer.
