Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities in Jamnagar dazzled with star power while Karan Johar was notably absent. Bollywood luminaries including Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and more graced Gujarat to join in the opulent celebrations. Yet, fans couldn’t help but wonder about KJo’s absence from the festivities.
Karan Johar was slated not only to attend the festivities but also to perform at the sangeet alongside his friend and fashion designer, Manish Malhotra. However, Karan fell ill with a sudden bout of viral infection and a sore throat at the last minute, forcing him to regretfully cancel his participation, IndiaToday reported.
With Karan absent from the celebrations, Manish took the stage and performed “Bole Chudiyaan” with Ananya Panday, Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Khushi Kapoor. The source mentioned that Karan and Manish had diligently rehearsed for the performance. Despite his absence, Karan conveyed his heartfelt wishes to Anant and Radhika over the phone and expressed his intention to meet them in person soon.
He shared a stunning video on March 6 capturing Radhika’s enchanting entrance to a revamped rendition of “Dekha Tainu” from the film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,’ accompanied by a heartfelt message that resonated with readers which read, “Heartiest congratulations to Anant and @radhikamerchant!
