Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos collection: Box office day 1

According to Industry tracker Sacnilk, Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos grossed Rs 1.25 crore on its opening day. In fact, the occupancy rate was even below the 10 per cent mark. With overall occupancy numbers at 9.57 per cent, night shows managed to up the scale, while day shows were even lower.

With limited screenings and shows, Happy Patel also offered several promotional discounts for students and specifically for those who attended a comedy show. Despite these efforts and viral collaborations with Sunil Grover-esque Aamir Khan, Happy Patel did not gather a large audience for its debut day.

With over 500 shows scheduled in Delhi NCR, Happy Patel barely filled 7% seats, while just 300 shows in Mumbai gathered a slightly higher response. Not as much as a slapstick, Happy Patel is a quirky, satirical, and meta take on Bollywood spy movies. However, the Indian audience is already recovering from an otherwise action-packed and intense blockbuster, Dhurandhar. This Ranveer Singh set the box office ablaze with a 40-day run, becoming the biggest Bollywood film in less than four weeks of its theatrical release.

Happy Patel also clashed with Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma’s ‘Rahu Ketu’ on the big screen on its release day. The mythological comedy grossed Rs 1 crore, behind Happy Patel by a small margin.
