Gachiakuta, the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Kei Urnana’s manga series, is all set to premiere soon. Ahead of its global debut, Crunchyroll is tapping into the growing anime fanbase in India by holding an exclusive advance screening in the country — a strategic move aimed at building buzz and amplifying the hype among Indian anime fans who have shown an increasing appetite for high-energy, story-driven titles like the upcoming superhit show in-the-making.

Described as raw and graffiti-fuelled, Gachiakuta tells the story of Rudo, a young outcast falsely accused of murder and banished into the desolate wasteland known as The Pit. There, he faces monstrous Trash Beasts and a brutal world stacked against him. Determined to rise from the abyss and overturn the corrupt powers that discarded him, Rudo’s fight promises to hook audiences with intense action and striking visuals.

More about Gachiakuta anime

“There’s a raw, emotional current in Gachiakuta that will resonate with fans the moment they see it,” said Gita Rebbapragada, Chief Operating Officer at Crunchyroll. “These promotional efforts are designed to match the excitement and intensity of this remarkable story and hook them into an unforgettable narrative journey.”

Alongside today’s trailer debut, Crunchyroll also unveiled exclusive behind-the-scenes content, including “Behind Gachiakuta,” a video interview offering a closer look at how creators Kei Urana and Hideyoshi Andou blend manga storytelling with graffiti’s raw aesthetic. Fans were also treated to a new concept video and key visual, proudly declaring, “Here Comes Gachiakuta!”

Adding to the excitement, the anime’s opening theme, “HUGs” by rising hardcore band Paledusk, promises an explosive sound that matches the series’ intensity. The ending theme, “TOMOSHIBI” by DUSTCELL, known for their dark, evocative music, brings a haunting, emotional close to each episode that mirrors Rudo’s troubled journey.

The New Characters’ Twist

Two new characters were revealed as part of the more recent updates: Regto, voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa, is the man who raised Rudo after he lost his parents and gave him his signature gloves. Jabber, voiced by Yuuki Shin, is one of the Raiders, a ruthless band of ground bandits who fights with deadly rings containing a powerful neurotoxin.

Directed by newcomer Fumihiko Suganuma, with series composition by Attack on Titan and Chainsaw Man writer Hiroshi Seko, and music by Taku Iwasaki (Bungo Stray Dogs), Gachiakuta promises to push boundaries with its unique graffiti-infused world and hard-hitting narrative.

With the Gachiakuta World Takeover now underway, Crunchyroll is ready to deliver an unforgettable global anime experience when the series begins streaming on Crunchyroll on July 6.
