Coolie Box Office Collection Day 19: Rajinikanth’s Coolie has been the talk of the town ever since it hit theatres, smashing records and creating new ones in its opening weeks. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the action-packed entertainer had the biggest opening ever for a Tamil film and also registered one of the strongest opening weekends in Indian cinema. But now, nearly three weeks after its release, the film is beginning to lose momentum at the domestic box office.
According to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, Coolie collected Rs 1.10 crore on Day 19 (Monday, September 2). This marks the film’s lowest single-day collection so far. With this, the film’s India net collection stands at Rs 280.2 crore. On the previous day (Sunday, Day 18), the film had earned Rs 3.1 crore across all versions – Rs 2.1 crore from Tamil, Rs 50 lakh from Hindi, Rs 45 lakh from Telugu, and Rs 5 lakh from Kannada.
After an earth-shattering opening, Coolie showed signs of slowing down in its second week. The film managed to collect Rs 41.85 crore in its second week, which included Rs 24.2 crore from the Tamil version, Rs 9.4 crore from Hindi, Rs 7.55 crore from Telugu, and Rs 70 lakh from Kannada.
The film had a strong revival during its third weekend as fan buzz kept it alive, but weekday numbers are now slipping. Monday’s Rs 1.10 crore collection is the sharpest dip so far, highlighting how difficult it has become for the film to sustain its early momentum.
Coolie worldwide box office collections
While domestic earnings are slowing, Coolie is still performing impressively at the global box office. The Rajinikanth-starrer has already crossed an estimated Rs 507.75 crore worldwide. Of this, Rs 177.15 crore has come from overseas markets, proving the superstar’s massive global pull.
With these numbers, Coolie has cemented its place as one of the biggest Indian films of 2025 so far. It has already surpassed the opening records of other major releases like Saiyaara, Chaava, War 2, and Empuran.
Coolie is not just a Rajinikanth film, it’s also a star-studded spectacle featuring Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, and several other big names in main roles. Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, the film is a mix of mass action, something fans of Rajinikanth eagerly look forward to.
The movie’s blockbuster opening proved the superstar’s unmatched hold over audiences. Even though reviews were mixed and word-of-mouth was divided, the early craze was enough to propel it into record books.
Coolie’s future box office estimates
Crossing Rs 280 crore in India and over Rs 500 crore worldwide is no small feat. But with new releases hitting theatres and the weekday slump setting in, Coolie may find it tough to add significantly more to its tally in the coming weeks.
Still, there’s no denying that Rajinikanth has once again reaffirmed his status as the ‘Thalaivar’ of the box office, delivering one of 2025’s biggest blockbusters.
