Baahubali 2: The Conclusion box office collection on day 2: The much-awaited mega release of the year Baahubali 2: The Conclusion finally hit the screens on Friday and now continues to see a surge in footfalls causing its box office collections to cross the Rs 200-crore mark on Saturday in India – within a 48 hr period! Within just two days of its release, the film has earned Rs 223 crore across the nation, as per the data revealed by trade analyst Ramesh Bala. On the first day of its release, the SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus had entered into Rs 100 crore club with a business of Rs 121 crore in India and Rs 65 crore in overseas markets. The total business of the film in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages was calculated Rs 60 crore on Saturday, while it alone earned Rs 42 crore from its Hindi version in India on the day.

Released in 2015, the first part of the film Baahubali: The Beginning had left the viewers in suspense with the question of ‘Why did Katappa kill Baahubali?’ It was the grand sets, a strong script and strong acting by the star cast including Prabhas, Rana Daggubati that also kept the audience waiting for its sequel that promised to be better in every respect. It was the result of this that with the release at the theatres witnessed huge queues of people to watch the film on the first day of its release – reportedly, the film was screened in as many as 9000 screens worldwide, something that no other movie had achieved. The business of the film in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages was calculated at Rs 80 crore on Friday, while it earned Rs 41 crore from its Hindi version in India, according to data shared by Bala.

Leave alone India, the film is also making records overseas, in terms of its business. The Rajamouli’s film has become the first Indian movie to do $3 million in a day, shares Bala. The film has collected $3.47 million on Saturday in the USA with its total reaching $8.16 million so far, an amount of 52.45 crores in Indian rupees. In the two days, the film has collected Rs 2.59 crore in Australia and Rs 88.29 lakhs in New Zealand from its Hindi version, shared another trade analyst Taran Adarsh on his Twitter account.
