Doctors have confirmed that Amitabh Bachchan underwent an angioplasty at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital. The 81-year-old actor was admitted early Friday morning and subsequently received the procedure, The Indian Express reported.
In a blog update on Friday, Bachchan expressed gratitude for the prayers and love he has received. He also shared a tweet acknowledging the support he has been receiving.
Earlier this week, Bachchan was involved in shooting for the upcoming film “Kalki 2898 AD,” directed by Nag Ashwin. He had been working towards completing the project, aiming for a May 9th release date. This is not the first health setback for Bachchan related to “Kalki 2898 AD.”
In 2023, he suffered an injury on the film’s set, which included rib cartilage damage and a muscle tear.
