Coronavirus Omicron India Highlights, February 15 Covid-19 India, World Live Tracker: The Omicron-led third wave in India is receding with each passing day. The country recorded 27, 409 new Covid19 infections on Tuesday, which was a lower in terms of day-on-day comparison. The fatality tally also remains steady with 347 Covid deaths registered in the span of 1 day. More importantly, the active cases have declined significantly. The morning bulletin released on Tuesday morning showed that India has at present 4,23,127 active coronavirus cases. February 15 is the ninth consecutive day when the country has seen less than one lakh daily Covid cases. The national recovery rate has also improved. The official data suggests that the national recovery rate stands at 97.82 per cent.

Goa on Tuesday recorded 85 fresh coronavirus positive cases and three fatalities, taking the tally of infections to 2,44,287 and the death toll to 3,777, the state health department said.
Goa's case positivity rate stands at 4.22 per cent as of Tuesday.
A total of 469 COVID-19 patients were discharged after treatment during the day, raising the number of recoveries in the coastal state to 2,38,756, the department said.
With 2,012 new tests, the total number of samples examined so far for coronavirus detection in Goa went up to 18,56,588, a health official said.

Coronavirus positive cases continued to dip in Tamil Nadu with the state registering 1,325 new infections on Tuesday as against 1,634 on Monday, and 14 deaths, thus taking the overall count to 34,39,221 and the toll to 37,946.
With 5,894 COVID-19 positive patients getting discharged following treatment today, the cumulative recoveries increased to 33,69,907 while the total active cases, including isolation, as of today further decreased to 31,368 from 35,951 on Monday, according to a bulletin from the state Health department.
Fresh COVID-19 cases have been on the downward graph since February 9 with 3,971 cases and on Monday the infections declined to 1,634 and further to 1,325 today.
Chennai and Coimbatore, among the 38 districts, too saw a marginal decrease to 303 and 231 fresh cases, respectively, from 341 and 305 new infections, respectively, on Monday. Chengalpattu recorded 113 cases while Erode registered 82 infections.
Perambalur is the lone district which registered a single case while 12 other districts saw cases in single digits. The remaining districts recorded new infections below 100.
With 891 people getting discharged today, Chennai's total recoveries increased to 7,33,299 and the fatalities including 2 deaths today, increased to 9,048. The metro accounted for 7,47,494 positive cases while the active cases stood at 5,147, the bulletin said. (PTI)

Andhra Pradesh reported 615 fresh coronavirus cases in 24 hours ending 9 AM on Tuesday, taking the total to 23,13,827.
The latest bulletin said 2,787 infected persons had recovered while four more succumbed in the state.
The total number of recoveries increased to 22,86,575 and deaths to 14,702, the bulletin said.
The number of active cases dropped to 12,550.
West Godavari district registered 134, East Godavari 103 and Krishna 102 fresh cases.
Of the remaining 10, two districts reported less than 10 new cases each and eight added between 10 and 70 each.
Chittoor, Guntur, Krishna and West Godavari districts reported one fresh Covid-19 fatality each in a day. (PTI)

The head of the World Health Organisation’s Europe office said Tuesday that health officials are turning their attention to growing rates of COVID-19 infection in Eastern Europe, where six countries — including Russia and Ukraine — have seen a doubling in case counts over the last two weeks.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said he has tested positive for coronavirus and has isolated himself. The CM had contracted the viral infection earlier also in 2020 and he was then hospitalised for a few days. On Tuesday, Chouhan in a Twitter post said, "I underwent the RT-PCR test for COVID-19 in which I tested positive. I have normal symptoms. I have isolated myself in accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines." - PTI

Mild- to moderate-intensity exercise for 90 minutes after getting a flu or COVID-19 vaccine may boost the levels of antibodies in the body, according to a study. The findings, published in the journal Brain, Behavior, and Immunity, could directly benefit people with a range of fitness levels. Participants who cycled on a stationary bike or took a brisk walk for an hour-and-a-half after vaccination produced more antibodies in the following four weeks compared to those who did not exercise. A new wave of infections from the Omicron variant of the coronavirus is moving towards the east of Europe, the World Health Organization said on Tuesday, urging authorities to improve vaccination and other measures.Over the past two weeks, cases of COVID-19 have more than doubled in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Russia and Ukraine, WHO's Europe regional director Hans Kluge said in a statement.The comments come at a time when several European countries including the Czech Republic and Poland have hinted at easing of COVID-19 restrictions next month if daily infection numbers kept falling.The WHO, however, stressed the continued need for measures such as rapid testing and masking, saying over 165 million COVID-19 cases have been recorded so far across the WHO European region, with 25,000 deaths in the past week." – Reuters

Arunachal Pradesh's COVID-19 tally rose to 64,066 on Tuesday as 62 more people tested positive for the infection, a senior health official said. The Capital Complex region recorded the highest number of 13 new cases, followed by eight each in Tawang and Longding. Arunachal Pradesh now has 539 active cases, while 63,233 people have recuperated from the disease so far, including 152 in the last 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said. The death toll remained unchanged at 294 as no fresh fatality was recorded. - PTI
South Korea reported its highest number of COVID-19 deaths in a month Tuesday as U.S. health authorities advised Americans to avoid traveling to the country grappling with a fast-developing omicron surge. The 61 deaths reported by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency on Tuesday was the highest daily tally since the 74 reported on Jan. 19, when the country was emerging from an outbreak driven by the delta variant.
