MBOSE topper list: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) today announced the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination results for the year 2017 at 10 AM but its merit list was leaked on Monday night on social media. According to a ShillongTimes.com report, the incident was confirmed by the MBoSE controller of examinations, TR Laloo. He called the incident ‘unfortunate’ and also said that they are in talks with the ‘technical experts to find out the reason.’ The incident came to light after an official was informed about it when people close to him informed him about the merit list leak on Facebook. Laloo, the controller of examinations said that the matter has been taken up with the technical personnel of the board and that ‘it does not appear to be an inside job.’ He further added that, ‘It was only the PDF file of the merit list which was leaked. Others are yet to be out.’

Laloo also said that it might be the mistake of the partner website where the results were to be published or someone might have hacked the website. As per the leaked merit list, Duyu Asung of St George Secondary School in Nongmynsong and Lamphrang Lyngdoh of Ram Krishna Mission HS School Cherrapunji shared the first position by scoring a total of 568 marks across six subjects. The second position is jointly held by Rahul Sen of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School in Tura and Idarikor Warshong of Eriben Presbyterian Secondary School, Shillong.
The news about the merit list leak came a few hours after the Haryana exam result goof up surfaced on the internet. The Haryana education board had declared the results for secondary examination on Monday, but soon it had to be rolled back over an incorrect merit list. A statement released by the board said,”Due to some technical error, the Board of School Education Haryana is rectifying the result of Secondary Examination, March-2017.”
