Delhi Education Minister Atishi on Thursday highlighted that the Arvind Kejriwal government is the only one in the country that allocates 25% of its total budget to education. She asserted that the AAP administration has dramatically transformed the city’s educational landscape since taking office.
At a press conference, Atishi pointed out that before the AAP’s tenure, government schools suffered from severe deficiencies, including a lack of classrooms, boards, power supply, and washrooms.
“Since 2015, the Delhi government has constructed 22,711 new classrooms,” she noted. Atishi also emphasised the modern amenities in government schools, such as smart boards, libraries, and sports facilities, which create an environment conducive to learning.
Moreover, 14 new schools are currently under construction to provide students with top-tier infrastructure for a high-quality education. These initiatives, she added, are part of the city government’s ongoing commitment to delivering excellent education to every student, in line with Kejriwal’s vision.
