CBSE 12th results 2017: With the announcement of the Class 12 results by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), celebrations started at the home of Noida girl Raksha Gopal. A student of Amity International School in Noida, the girl has topped the examination with 99.6 per cent marks. She was followed by Bhumi Sawant De from DAV Chandigarh who has secured the second position with 99.4 per cent and Aditya Jain from Bhawan Vidyalaya Chandigarh, the boy who came third with 99.2 per cent. A bright student throughout her academic life, Raksha has secured perfect 100 scores in three subjects while she has scored 99 in rest two. Take a look at Raksha’s stunning mark sheet:
– English Core: 100/100
– History: 99/100 [79 (theory)+20 (practical)]
– Political Science: 100/100
– Economics: 100/100
– Psychology: 99/100 [69 (theory)+30 (practical)]

Apart from these subjects, she also secured top grades (A1) in Work Experience, Physical and Health Education and General Studies.

After securing the top position in CBSE Class 12 examination, Raksha now wants to study Political Science (Honours) from the University of Delhi.

Last year, Sukriti Gupta topped the Class 12 CBSE exam with 99.4 per cent. Though Raksha has raised the top student’s percentage, the all India pass percentage of CBSE has dipped a bit this time, as it is 82 per cent as against last year’s 83.05 per cent.

Soon after results were declared, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar spoke to CBSE Class XII toppers in all three streams of Science, Commerce and Humanities. “Happy to interact directly over phone & congratulate toppers of CBSE Class XII Board examinations. Also congrats to students of all Boards” shared the minister. He also congratulated all the students who have passed the examination and encouraged those who could not perform well this year. “I want to congratulate all the students who scored well. I also want to say those who did not do well should try again”, Javadekar posted on his Twitter Account.
