Noida girl Raksha Gopal from Amity International School, Noida has topped CBSE Class XII exam with 99.6 per cent marks. Bhumi Sawant De from DAV Chandigarh secured the second position with 99.4% and Aditya Jain from Bhawan Vidyalaya Chandigarh came third with 99.2%. However, the pass percentage in CBSE Class XII examinations has fallen to 82 per cent from 83.05 per cent last year. HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has reportedly spoken to CBSE Class XII toppers in all three streams of Science, Commerce and Humanities.
According to PTI, the board has started a helpline with toll-free number 18000118004 for psychological counselling post class XII board results. “65 counsellors will talk to students and parents on the helpline number between 8 am to 10 pm,” the official said.
The board conducted the class 12th board examination from March 9 to April 29 this year. A total of 19,85,397 students registered for the Class 10th and 12th examination this year, including the 10,98,891 students who appeared for the class 12th examination. Among the registered students 4,60,026 girls and 6,38,865 boys took part in the class 12th examination. The class 10th examination results is likely to be announced on June 2, however, their is no official confirmation from the board.
