The woman deceived her parents by sending them messages about class tests and her attendance in classes, purportedly from the coaching institute, stated the SP.

A friend cooperating with the police said that Kavya and another friend believed to be with her presently, aimed to escape abroad but lacked sufficient money. So, they faked the kidnapping to ask for ransom.

Kavya set up the fake kidnapping photos in a friend’s room, as stated by the police. They also revealed that Kavya and her friends switched off their phones. They had previously studied in Indore and had intentions to pursue studies abroad.

Initially, during the investigation, police found no enrollment records of the woman in the institute or the hostel mentioned by her father, as per Circle Inspector Satish Chaudhary’s statement to PTI.

The true circumstances will only become clear after the woman is found. Based on current leads, police found no evidence of abduction, with Kavya and her friends travelling to Jaipur on March 18, according to SP Duhan.
