The India Meteorological Department has warned that isolated heavy showers will occur all over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and South Interior Karnataka from 1 November to 2 November. The IMD has also issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Karaikal, and Mahe. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been notified for intense downpours over South Interior Karnataka. Northwestern and some parts of central and eastern India are forecast to continue witnessing above-normal temperatures for the next four days. Moreover, Delhi and NCR areas are likely to experience smog, slight fog, or mist during morning and night from 1 November to 3 November.

Rainfall Prediction for Southern India

The Met Department has warned that there may be light showers accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in Kerala and Mahe from 1 November to 4 November. Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and Karaikal are likely to experience similar weather conditions from 1 November to 3 November. Karnataka is expected to receive it from 1 November to 2 November. Likewise, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and Yanam may get it today. Intense heavy downpours have been warned for Kerala, Mahe, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu on 1 November. Similar weather patterns are likely to prevail over Karaikal, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu till November 2. Additionally, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe are expected to experience it from 1 November to 3 November.

Delhi-NCR Weather Update

The National Capital is predicted to have a mostly clear sky, with mild fog or mist most likely to prevail in the morning as well as the night. The air quality in Delhi dropped significantly as people celebrated Diwali on Thursday, completely ignoring the ban on firecrackers. Pollution level was recorded as high because of firecrackers in areas like Dwarka, Lajpat Nagar, and Kalkaji. Delhi’s AQI reached 327 at 9 pm on Thursday. According to CPCB, Jahangirpuri and Anand Vihar experienced ”’very poor” air quality. The 24-hour AQI was measured to be at 328, thus making it the worst Diwali air quality in the last three years.
