A 45-year-old man was killed in Uttar Pradesh by his wife after they got married. And this is when both married out of mutual consent after talking to each other for almost a month. But what led her to betray and kill the man she had chosen to marry?
Before we answer that, let us give you some background. For that, we need to go back a month.
Man publicly admitted about 18 acres of land
The man, Indrakumar, had attended a spiritual discourse (katha) by Guru Aniruddhacharya, where he expressed his desire to get married and his disappointment at not finding a suitable partner.
After Aniruddhacharya asked his age, he suggested that he should give up worldly desires and consider becoming a monk. The man then explained that he owned 18 acres of land and needed someone to help manage it. In response, Aniruddhacharya suggested he donate the land for public welfare.
A video of their conversation went viral, and a woman, “Khushi Tiwari”, contacted him on social media, per an NDTV report. They got to know each other, and she eventually proposed marriage. He accepted her proposal.
Soon after, she invited him to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, to meet him in person. He travelled there and the two even got married.
But what went wrong?
Well, the woman was later identified as Sahiba Bano, who disguised herself as a Hindu woman to deceive the man and gain access to his property. Just hours after their wedding, she reportedly murdered him with the help of accomplices, the outlet further reported.
“The man reached Gorakhpur, and the two got married. His body was found days later. It is suspected that the woman and her associates killed him and escaped with some jewellery and cash that he was carrying,” NDTV quoted Kushinagar SP Santosh Kumar as saying.
NDTV further reported that Indrakumar’s body was discovered in Sukarouli, under the Hata Kotwali jurisdiction of Kushinagar, with a knife still lodged in his neck.
He added, “He Sahiba has been arrested. She had made a fake Aadhaar card as well. Efforts are on to nab the remaining accused. A detailed probe is underway.”
