Actor Thalapathy Vijay unveiled the flag of his political party Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) on August 22. He also launched the party anthem and plans to prepare for Chennai assembly polls in 2026. The flag hoisting took place at his party headquarters.

The actor-turned-politician announced the launch of the political party in February but, he chose to refrain from contesting the election of 2024 Lok Sabha and, also did not give his support to any other party.

Flag Elements

The flag has two colors – maroon and yellow, with yellow at the center. The center of the Flag has a depiction, of two fighting tuskers on both sides of the Vaagai flower placed at the center, presenting a symbol of victory.

The unveiling of the flag happened with a pledge taken by Vijay and his party workers. The pledge read, “We will always appreciate the fighters who fought and sacrificed their lives for the liberation of our country, and countless soldiers who fought tirelessly for the rights of our people from Tamil soil,”.

Everyone from the party vowed to remove malpractices like discrimination based on caste, religion, gender, and place of birth to create awareness among the citizens and push for equal opportunities and equal rights for all.
