The Income Tax department on Thursday conducted raids at over 40 premises suspected to be linked to former Union minister and current Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Member of Parliament, S Jagathrakshakan in Tamil Nadu.
Searches are currently underway in Kanchipuram at all premises linked to the DMK MP and his relatives, reports news agency ANI.

Jagathrakshakan serves as a Lok Sabha MP, representing the Arakonnam constituency in Tamil Nadu, and he has been elected from this constituency on three separate occasions.
Previously, the Income Tax Department had conducted raids at approximately 10 locations in Karur, connected to the incarcerated DMK leader Senthil Balaji. Balaji had been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on June 14 in connection with a money laundering case.
