Delhi Chief Minister Atishi announced on Wednesday that strict administrative action would be taken against two officers who issued public notices distancing themselves from the registration process for two key Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) schemes. The officers, a joint director from the Department of Women and Child Development and the special secretary from the Health and Family Welfare Department, have been accused of labeling AAP’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana as “fraudulent” in the notices published in newspapers.

AAP’s response to public notices

Atishi, addressing a press conference at the AAP headquarters, strongly condemned the notices, claiming that the officers were under pressure from the BJP. She insisted that the public notices were false and part of a larger conspiracy by the BJP to undermine the AAP’s initiatives, which had gained significant public support. She further added that the party would take legal action, including a Delhi Police inquiry, against the officers for issuing misleading statements.

During the press conference, Atishi also shared an official notification from the Cabinet that approved the Rs 1,000 allowance for women under the Mahila Samman Yojana, reaffirming the legitimacy of the scheme.

Kejriwal criticises BJP’s tactics ahead of Delhi Elections

Arvind Kejriwal, also present at the conference, accused the BJP of attempting to derail the AAP’s efforts through underhanded tactics. He suggested that the BJP, lacking a clear agenda or chief ministerial candidate, was resorting to negative campaigning and false allegations against AAP leaders. Kejriwal emphasized that despite efforts to obstruct the schemes, AAP had successfully reached out to the people of Delhi with their accomplishments and policies.

He also claimed that the BJP was planning to disrupt the ongoing election campaigns by using government agencies like the CBI and ED to target senior AAP leaders, including Atishi, with false cases. According to Kejriwal, this was part of a broader strategy to undermine the party’s momentum.
