All schools in Noida and Greater Noida have been ordered to shut till November 10 owing to the deteriorating air quality in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Budha Nagar district.
Physical classes from pre-school to class 9 will be discontinued and online classes will be held, the district magistrate of Gautam Budha Nagar said in an order issued on Tuesday.
“All schools of the District Gautam Budha Nagar are directed to follow the implementation of the Graded Responses Action Plan Stage-IV order by discontinuing physical classes from Pre-School to Class 9 up to November 10. And conduct classes in an online mode,” the order read.
This order came after stage four of the Centre’s anti-pollution plan was implemented on November 5.

Noida has been facing ‘severe’ air quality since the past few days. On Tuesday morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) improved slightly in Noida and stood at 348 (very poor). Meanwhile, the AQI stood at at 439 (severe) in Greater Noida.
