IND vs ENG ODI series: The Indian men’s cricket team is gearing up for a three-match ODI series against England, following their impressive 4-1 win in the recently concluded T20I series. Scheduled to take place on February 6, 9, and 12 across Nagpur, Cuttack, and Ahmedabad, the series will serve as an important preparation for both teams ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The prestigious event will be held from February 19 to March 9 across three venues in Pakistan and one in Dubai. Rohit Sharma, who has struggled with form in recent Test series, will lead India in the 50-over format.

India’s squad for the upcoming ODI series sees several changes from the T20I squad, with key players such as Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Kuldeep Yadav making their return. Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rishabh Pant also rejoined the team after their respective breaks.

However, several T20I regulars, including Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, and Tilak Varma, have been excluded from the ODI squad. Their absence highlights India’s shift in focus from the T20 format to 50-over cricket, with the team prioritising experience ahead of the Champions Trophy.

Alongside the returning stars, India’s squad includes a mix of retained and new players. Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshit Rana, who were part of the T20I squad, have been retained for the ODIs. As the series unfolds, the team will look to fine-tune their preparations and build momentum leading up to the Champions Trophy, with several crucial positions still open for competition.
