Prime Minister Narendra Modi has yet again topped the popularity chart as he received 76 per cent approval rating, according to a survey. The BJP leader has constantly topped the survey, with his approval ratings hovering at around 70 per cent.

The latest “Global Leader Approval” survey released by US-based firm Morning Consult, which puts out weekly approval ratings of elected leaders said that 18 per cent of people disapproved of the Indian PM.

Mexican leader Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador was second in the popularity chart with 66 per cent in approval against 29 per cent giving a thumbs down to his leadership. He is followed by Switzerland’s president Alain Berset who has 58 per cent approval and 28 per cent of people disapproving of him.

The leaders who have followed are Brazil’s president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and PM of Italy Giorgia Meloni who have received approval ratings of 49 per cent, 47 per cent and 41 per cent respectively.

United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has an approval rating of 25 per cent, while Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s approval rating stood at 31 per cent, according to the survey by Morning Consult.

The latest approval ratings are based on data collected from November 29-December 5, 2023.

BJP leaders were ecstatic over the news and asserted that “Modi ki guarantee” and “Modi’s magic” have been endorsed even by an international survey. 

BJP leader C T Ravi lauded Modi as a “karma yogi” who has been notching up high approval ratings due to his hardwork, vision and dedication to transforming the country. “Today, the entire world looks up to PM Modi for guidance and advice in solving its problems,” he said.
