Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday praised the Indian armed forces for their swift and decisive response during Operation Sindoor, stating that the enemy was brought to its knees within days. The LG made the remarks while addressing Army and BSF personnel at the Poonch Brigade headquarters during his visit to the conflict-affected region.
“The 140 crore citizens of India are proud of the valour of our armed forces. This pride has only grown stronger after Operation Sindoor,” Sinha told the troops, while distributing sweets and expressing gratitude for their role in destroying terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The LG, who was accompanied by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, said that during the India-Pakistan military conflict earlier this month, regions like Poonch saw intense artillery shelling and drone attacks. Between May 8 and 10, 27 civilians were killed and at least 70 injured in the Jammu region, including in Poonch.
Sinha said the entire world has witnessed the military’s precision and might during Operation Sindoor, which targeted terror camps across the border. “Our neighbour is trying to nurture terrorism with the loans it takes. But our forces responded decisively and effectively,” he said.
Highlighting India’s global stature, Sinha added, “We are the world’s fifth-largest economy and will soon be the fourth-largest.”
He also announced that jobs would be provided to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the recent shelling incidents. Concluding his visit, the LG offered prayers at the revered Nangali Sahib gurdwara in Poonch.
