With people flocking to hotels, restaurants, and public places to ring in the New Year, security arrangements have been ramped up to manage the influx.

The security detail includes:
12,048 constables and 2,184 officers
53 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs)

In addition to the regular police force, personnel from the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Quick Response Teams (QRTs), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS), Riot Control Police, and Home Guards will also be on duty.
Special Measures and Checkpoints
‘Nakabandi’ (police checkpoints) will be set up on key roads, and a focused drive against drunk driving will be conducted on the night of December 31, continuing into the early hours of January 1. Police officials have warned of strict action against those involved in drunk driving, eve-teasing, disturbances, or the sale of illicit liquor and drugs.
Authorities have assured citizens of a secure environment to celebrate, emphasising their commitment to cracking down on any unlawful activities. These measures aim to maintain peace and ensure that residents and visitors enjoy a safe New Year’s Eve.
Residents are encouraged to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activities to ensure a smooth celebration across the city.
