Portfolio of Modi government ministers: Ajay Tamta has been given textiles department.
Ajay Tamta, BJP MP from Uttarakhand took oath as the new cabinet minister into the much-awaited and major second cabinet re-haul in the Narendra Modi government.

Tamta, a dalit leader from Almora found a place in the cabinet after Union Minister Rajnath Singh had promised Uttarakhand’s representation in the Modi cabinet.
Party leaders expected Tamta’s credentials as a Dalit leader would work in his favour.
Tamta’s name was dropped in the last cabinet reshuffle after BS Koshiyari found a place with a strong opposition.
