Maharashtra went to polls on November 20 for all 288 constituencies. The voting began at 7 am and concluded at 6 pm. Jharkhand on the other hand recorded a voter turnout percentage of over 67 per cent.

The election battle in Maharashtra is primarily a contest between two major alliances. The ruling Mahayuti alliance, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in partnership with Ajit Pawar’s NCP and Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, faces off against the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which includes the Shiv Sena (UBT), Sharad Pawar’s NCP, and the Congress party.

Out of the 288 total seats, 234 are for the general category, 29 are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), and 25 are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST).

Polling took place across 1,00,186 stations spread over 52,789 locations, with 42,604 booths in urban areas and 57,582 in rural areas. Among these, 299 booths were specifically managed by Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
