Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024: When will poll booths close in Maharashtra?
Voting will be allowed until 6 pm on Wednesday evening, but voters can still go to the polling stations and cast their votes. At some polling stations, voter turnout was reported to be sparse, while in other constituencies, there was noticeable enthusiasm among the voters. Employees of private companies were voting at polling stations in the morning and then heading to work. However, overall, by 10 am in the first round of voting, there was not much voter activity at the polling stations, as per LokSatta.
Meanwhile, as soon as voting began in Maharashtra’s Nashik district on Wednesday morning, an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) malfunctioned at one of the booths. This caused a brief delay, with some voters temporarily waiting while they had indelible ink applied to their fingers, sources reported. The incident took place at polling booth No. 164, located at New English School in the Nandgaon assembly constituency of northern Maharashtra.
