The Madras High Court on Friday allowed the Bharatiya Janata Party to hold a roadshow by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Coimbatore on March 18.

The Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP had moved the Madras High Court earlier in the day after the police denied permission for the roadshow, citing security concerns and ongoing public examinations.

The BJP as well as the state government have concluded their arguments and a verdict by Justice N Anand Venkatesh is expected shortly.

The BJP had planned a 4-km roadshow of the Prime Minister in Coimbatore which the police denied citing security concerns and the ongoing public examinations.
