Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, inaugurated the ‘Lok Samvardhan Parv’ in New Delhi on Thursday. This event is part of the Ministry of Minority Affairs’ 100-day programme and aims to showcase the ministry’s schemes, programmes, and achievements. It also highlights activities undertaken in collaboration with partner organizations and success stories from various initiatives.

According to ANI, Rijiju said, “The event Lok Samvardhan Parv is organised by the Ministry of Minority Affairs to give a platform to the talented artists supported by various welfare schemes launched by the Minority Ministry. We also provide them with a platform where they can put up their stalls and sell their items… I am happy that we could start this program in the first 100 days of our government. It is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s idea of reaching out to each section of society…It is a 10-day festival at the Dilli Haat…”

During the event, the Minister released a coffee table book detailing the schemes and achievements of the Ministry of Minority Affairs. He also unveiled a credit plan by the National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC) to extend over Rs 1000 crores in credit to more than 2.5 lakh beneficiaries during 2024-25, according to an official statement.

The ‘Lok Samvardhan Parv’ features a poster exhibition showcasing the Ministry’s schemes, programmes, and achievements. It also includes unique schemes and success stories of state channelizing partners of NMDFC. The event celebrates and displays over 70 exquisite handicraft and handloom products from various states, created by 162 artisans from minority communities. These artisans are supported by various Ministry schemes through NIFT, NID, and other Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) and have been nominated by the respective state Channelising Agencies of NMDFC.
