The police have arrested a karate instructor in Malappuram district in Kerala for allegedly molesting a minor girl who was his student. The 17-year-old girl went missing on February 19. Her body found near a river the same night.
Subsequently, the karate instructor was arrested by the police two days after the incident.

An officer from Vazhakkad police station stated that, prior to her death, the 17-year-old girl had informed her parents about the actions of the karate instructor, but no complaint was lodged as per her wishes, PTI reported.
The girl’s parents suspect foul play and ruled out the possibility of their daughter committing suicide.

A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered against the accused, leading to his arrest on February 21.
Notably, the karate instructor had been accused in another POCSO case in the past but was acquitted. The police are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances that led to the girl’s death.
