In an official announcement made on Monday, Jagat Prakash Nadda, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), announced the names of new state unit presidents for Meghalaya, Puducherry, and Nagaland.

Rikman Momin and Benjamin Yepthomi have been appointed for the roles of state party presidents in Meghalaya and Nagaland, respectively. Meanwhile, BJP Member of Parliament S Selvaganabathy has been designated as the new president of the party’s Puducherry unit.

This decision was formalised through an official order issued earlier this week by the party’s general secretary and headquarters in-charge, Arun Singh.

Notably, Benjamin Yepthomi, the newly appointed Nagaland state president, previously held the position of BJP’s vice president and was an active member of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM).

Yepthomi has also actively participated in election campaigns in states such as Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Mumbai, and Karnataka.
