Eight labourers suffered injuries due to an explosion that took place in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, local authorities said.

The police investigation has ruled out any terror angle. According to an official statements, the explosion occurred within a “load carrier” vehicle, which was transporting equipment including a concrete vibration machine, a portable generator, and a container of oil.

The Kashmir Zone Police elaborated on the incident in a post on X, stating, “An explosion occurred in the cement mix settling vibration machine, adjacent portable generator, and tin can of oil being carried with labourers in a load carrier at Larkipora, Anantnag.”

The injured labourers, eight in total have been promptly hospitalised to receive medical treatment. The authorities have reassured the public that all the injured individuals are in stable condition.

In their official statement, the police emphasised, “No terrorist angle has been observed in this incident, and the investigation has been started.”
