Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday asserted that in the next five years, India will become a model of development. “This is Modi’s guarantee,” he said at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi.

“Seeing you (students) all makes me proud and gives immense satisfaction that you all will take the country to newer heights during ‘Amrit Kaal’,” PM Modi said.

“Today, Kashi’s capability and form, which was there earlier, are being embellished again. It is a matter of pride for the entire country,” he added.

PM Modi attacks INDIA bloc in Varanasi

Later, speaking at a function in his Varanasi parliamentary constituency to commemorate the 647th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas, PM Modi attacked Opposition INDIA bloc, accusing its members of exploiting people in the name of casteism.

“They care for the well-being of their families, cannot think about the welfare of Dalits and tribals,” PM Modi said, adding that some Opposition leaders also opposed the choice of a tribal woman as the President of India.

The prime minister also inaugurated a newly installed statue of Sant Ravidas.

He said, “India is today moving rapidly on the path of development by adopting the messages of Sant Ravidas.”
