The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange alert for several states across the country which includes Gujarat, Rajasthan, and North eastern states such as Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. It also issued a ‘Red’ alert for Saurashtra and Kutch regions. “Saurashtra and Kutch regions are on high alert as isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall, including extremely heavy showers exceeding 204.4 mm is expected,” the IMD said.

A look at weather conditions across few states:-

Delhi: The national capital is likely to experience generally cloudy  skies with very light rain or drizzle. The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to be around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively. On Monday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 33.1 degrees Celsius.

Himachal Pradesh: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Shimla has predicted heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places over plains, low and mid hills of the state. It further added that the damage to crops, fruit plants etc may occur. Shimla, the state capital will witness cloudy skies along with a possibility of light rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning. The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to remain around 29 and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

Madhya Pradesh: The weather office has predicted light to moderate rainfall in some parts of the state. This is due to the formation of a low pressure which is now moving slowly towards Rajasthan. The maximum and minimum temperature is expected to remain between 28 and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

Maharashtra and Goa: The state is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall at most places of Konkan-Goa, districts of North Madhya Maharashtra, South Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. The Mumbai city and its suburbs are likely to experience generally cloudy skies with moderate rainfall. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 32 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
