In a fresh attack, Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday equated Pakistan to hell. Talking about the recent Nowhatta attack, where five terrorists were killed after a five-hour encounter, leaving 1 CRPF soldier dead and nine others injured, Parrikar said that Pakistan has been encouraging terrorism and will face consequences for it too.
While this can lead to another tu-tu-main-main between the two countries, the crux of the matter is getting pushed to the back seat day-by-day. Home Minister Rajnath Singh believes that whatever is happening in Kashmir, is sponsored by Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about Balochistan in his speech on the Independence Day, but missed out the Valley.
One encounter, one death and people are getting injured on a daily basis. Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani’s death lead to a turbulence in Kashmir that was aggravated by a prolong curfew, massive protests, rising death toll and most importantly, the usage of pellet guns. While the number of deceased has crossed 60 in Kashmir, India and Pakistan are yet to rise above their differences and take a look at the larger scenario. Pakistan blacked out Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s speech and later the Pakistani counterpart hosted a lunch and left the premises even before it started. Numerous incidents of such blame-game and tit-for-tat is taking a toll on the Valley, but little has been done in reference to it.
Sartaz Aziz says India is fomenting terrorism in Balochistan, the Prime Minister says Baloch is thanking him. We are busy pointing fingers at each other and patting ourselves for chairing meetings that are meant to ‘discuss’ terrorism while under our noses, terrorists are creating a niche for themselves.
