Lok Sabha Election 2024, Goa Result 2024: Congress candidate from South Goa, Captain Viriato Fernandes, has won the Lok Sabha seat and BJP sitting MP Shripad Yesso Naik has retained power on the North Goa Lok Sabha seat.

Voting for both the seats took place in a single phase on May 7.

The two Lok Sabha seats in the state– North Goa and South Goa– went to polls in the third phase of elections and recorded 77.69 per cent voter turnout.

In the North Goa seat, sitting BJP MP Shripad Yesso Naik was pitted in a close contest with Congress’s Ramakant Khalap, whereas in the South Goa seat, BJP’s Pallavi Shrinivas Dempo was up against Congress’s Captain Viriato Fernandez.

According to most of the exit polls, the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were expected to win one Lok Sabha seat each in the coastal state of Goa.

According to India Today-Axis My India exit poll results showed on Saturday, the BJP was likely to retain its North Goa seat and the Congress was likely to retain its dominance in the South Goa seat.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the North Goa seat. The seat was won by Shripad Yesso Naik. Meanwhile, South Goa seat was won by Congress candidate Cosme Francisco Caitano Sardinha.
