Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg has expressed her grief on a Facebook post after losing her husband in a treadmill accident.

According to News.com.au, David Goldberg died after he fell off a running treadmill in the gym at a private resort in Mexico.

Sheryl Sandberg wrote the online post to coincide with the end of Sheloshim, the Jewish 30-day period of mourning.

She spoke about the “vast emptiness” that has consumed her since she lost her husband and how she has cried herself to sleep each night in her mother’s arms.

She wrote “I have lived thirty years in these thirty days. I am thirty years sadder. I feel like I am thirty years wiser.”

She also expressed anger at the drivers who did not move to the side to allow the ambulance quick passage when her husband was rushed to hospital after his accident.
