The political landscape of Delhi witnessed a dramatic shift on Saturday as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) struggled to recreate its past electoral successes. As per the latest trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised for a significant victory, leading in 46 seats, while AAP trails with leads in only 24 seats.

In a major setback, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is trailing from the New Delhi constituency. Adding to AAP’s woes, Atishi, another key party leader, is also behind in the Kalkaji seat, reflecting a potential collapse in AAP’s stronghold.

The decision by AAP to contest the Delhi elections without its INDIA Bloc ally Congress may have contributed to its struggles. The three-way contest between BJP, AAP, and Congress appears to have benefited the saffron party, with Congress cutting into AAP’s vote share.

Reacting to the situation, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah took a veiled dig at AAP and Congress on social media, posting, “Aur lado aapas mein!” (Keep fighting among yourselves). Political analysts suggest that the rivalry between AAP and Congress has played a crucial role in BJP’s surge.

If the trends hold, the results could mark a political upheaval in Delhi, altering the city’s governance dynamics and reinforcing BJP’s dominance in the national capital.
