The BJP on Monday intensified its criticism of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of defying constitutional norms by not tabling Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports in the Delhi Assembly.

BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi questioned Kejriwal’s stance, asking, “Does he consider himself above the Constitution?”

He asserted that the constitutional framework mandates governments to present CAG reports, which review public revenue and expenditures, but the Delhi government has failed to comply.

Trivedi claimed that the AAP government has neglected its duty, withholding nearly a dozen CAG reports, including one critical of its now-scrapped excise policy. The policy allegedly caused a Rs 2,026 crore loss to the exchequer, as per the CAG findings.

The BJP leader accused AAP of having an “anarchist character” that undermines constitutional processes. He also took aim at Kejriwal’s leadership, calling him a “super chief minister” who exercises authority without accountability.

“In the past, Kejriwal mocked the Congress-led UPA government with terms like ‘PM and super PM.’ Now, he himself behaves like a ‘super CM,’ sidelining even his own ministers,” Trivedi remarked.

Trivedi further dismissed Chief Minister Atishi’s crowdfunding initiative for her campaign as a mere publicity stunt, claiming it was another example of AAP masking its real motives.

He also criticised Kejriwal for failing to deliver despite heading a strong majority government in Delhi, accusing him of relying on “excuses and complaints” instead of governance.
