As the counting to the Delhi Assembly election results begins, key candidates from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress turned to religion, visiting temples to seek blessings ahead of the Delhi Assembly Election Results.

Delhi Minister and AAP candidate from Greater Kailash, Saurabh Bharadwaj, offered prayers at the Kalkaji temple. Expressing his confidence, he said, “Whatever happens, now it is in the hands of the mother goddess.” Bharadwaj believes that AAP will secure a comfortable majority, projecting 40-45 seats for his party and the re-election of Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister.

BJP candidate Shikha Rai, also in Greater Kailash, visited the Kalkaji temple for divine blessings, stating her certainty in victory. Satish Upadhyay, contesting from Malviya Nagar, visited the Hanuman Temple in Green Park, echoing optimism about BJP’s prospects. Upadhyay claimed that AAP’s “hat-trick” was unlikely and that the BJP was poised to bring about a transformation in Delhi.

BJP candidate from the New Delhi assembly constituency, Parvesh Verma says, “It’s an important day for the people of Delhi. I prayed that the BJP govt to be formed in Delhi…”

BJP’s Harish Khurana, contesting from Moti Nagar, expressed confidence in a significant BJP win. He predicted the party would secure more than 50 seats, marking its return to power after 27 years. “The people are tired of unaddressed issues and false politics,” he added.

Former AAP leader and Congress candidate Alka Lamba visited the Kalkaji temple, stating that Congress campaigned on the issues faced by the people of Delhi. Similarly, Abhishek Dutt, the Congress candidate from Kasturba Nagar, voiced confidence in the truth and hard work to win the election.

Security beefed up in Delhi

With the election results just hours away, authorities have heightened security at the counting centres across Delhi. The battle is between AAP, aiming for a third consecutive term, and BJP, seeking to break AAP’s winning streak. Congress, meanwhile, is hopeful of a revival despite past setbacks.
