CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on Wednesday (September 11) with his condition described as “critical but stable,” according to a PTI report.
Yechury, who requires oxygen support, is under the care of a multidisciplinary team of doctors.
The CPI(M) had announced on Tuesday that the 72-year-old leader is receiving treatment for an acute respiratory tract infection in the ICU at Delhi AIIMS.
“He is on respiratory support. A multi-disciplinary team of doctors is closely monitoring his condition, which is critical at this time,” the party said in a statement on X.
Yechury was admitted to AIIMS on August 19 for a pneumonia-like chest infection.
